Course for Living Awake
With short daily videos and instructions, the Course for Living Awake builds new habits of thought, emotions, and body. The course deconditions habits of constriction and fear and replaces them with serenity and curiosity. We become certain that we can’t be harmed and that life is benevolent.
If our “little me” perspectives are like ruts in a dirt road, this course lifts us back onto smooth ground.
New habits are said to develop in 66 days on average (with a range of several months). So, this course is designed to last about 7 months. (There are 70 videos, each designed to be watched and applied for 3 days.) However, you can pace yourself. The videos last between 5 and 10 minutes.
The daily videos contain exercises that
- replace our painful habits with peace
- deepen our experience of our timeless essence
- guide us to freedom during uncertainty
- embrace our emotions while knowing that what we are is even bigger.
With a mind-emotions-body-approach, we discover the ability to cherish our human experience while abiding in our true nature.
Living in paradise
I had a dream of paradise. In paradise, everyone always got something better (per their preferences) than they asked for. A restaurant would change one’s order. A store might change from a drug store to a flying carpet store, etc. There also was a hotel where they tried to give people only what they asked for. Amazingly, most people only took short excursions into paradise (though they were allowed to stay) and remained principally in the hotel because they preferred predictability over elation.
What if that is us every day–too distracted by our attachments to fully recognize the benevolent flow of our lives? This course retrains our perspectives and attention.
